Interior Landscaping
How much does it cost to have plants added to my space?
Starts at around $200 per month for a small installation. The largest installations can be upwards of $10,000 per month.
How much lead time is needed to have plants installed in my space?
Budget two weeks for design work, and another two weeks needed to procure materials after proposal is approved.
Does Amlings offer plant and container leasing options?
Yes, we offer both leasing and upfront purchase options.
What if I already own my plants and/or containers?
No problem.
Is there a minimum contract term?
There is no minimum contract term if plants and containers are purchased/owned by client. We offer leasing options from one year to four years.
Living Walls
How much do living walls cost to install and maintain?
A good rule of thumb for installation is roughly $250 per square foot of greenwall, but depends on how elaborate and what type of system is used. Ongoing maintenance in the range of $5 per square foot and up.
Does Amlings provide both installation and maintenance?
We offer both. For installation, typically we will work together with your engineering team or preferred contractor.
What greenwall system does Amlings recommend?
We work with many different systems, and recommend the system we feel is best suited to each individual case (based on budget, size of wall, special features desired).
Is plumbing or electrical work needed to install a plant wall?
Depends on the scale. Small walls typically don’t need plumbing & electrical, larger ones do. Supplemental lighting (often track lighting for smaller walls) is typically recommended for both appearance and plant health.
How much lead time is needed to have a living wall installed in my space?
Standard lead-time is 2-3 weeks for design and spec work, and an additional 6 weeks to manufacture and ship materials.
Exterior Displays
What types of exterior spaces does Amlings provide displays for?
Containerized displays (for example at a building’s front entrance), parkway planters, sidewalk cafes, rooftop gardens.
Does Amlings offer ongoing maintenance of exterior displays?
Yes, Amlings offers a turnkey service which includes design, installation and ongoing maintenance.
Does Amlings offer installation-only services?
We unfortunately do not – we only offer a complete turnkey solution the includes design, installation and ongoing maintenance.
Can Amlings recommend containers for my exterior space?
Yes.
Commercial Holiday Decorating Services
How much does it cost to have Amlings decorate my space for the holidays?
Our designs can cost anywhere from a few thousand dollars to tens of thousands of dollars per season.
Does Amlings offer holiday decorating as a standalone service?
Unfortunately, staffing levels limit the number of holiday installations we can accommodate each year. As a result, we are only able to offer holiday decorating services as an add-on service to our interior landscape clients.
Is there a minimum contract term?
There is no minimum term, but multi-year commitments to use the same designs enjoy more favorable rates.
Will Amlings set up holiday décor that I already own?
Unfortunately, Amlings typically does not work with client owned materials. In order to complete all of our holiday installations during a short window of time, it is necessary to pre-decorate all items at our ‘North Pole workshop’ before the season arrives.
When do I need to start planning for my holiday decorations each year?
We recommend starting to plan for the next holiday season as soon as the current holiday season is over to allow enough time for design, materials procurement, and pre-decoration of décor items before the season arrives. Our install/setup calendar is typically full by June each year.
What does the process look like for coming up with a design for my space?
We visit with you to understand your vision and the unique characteristics of your space, then create a proposal unique to you, with options for you to select from.
What does installation look like?
Our goal is to ensure a smooth installation with as little disruption to your space as possible. We pre-decorate all of your items in advance offsite at our facility to limit the amount of work we have to do onsite. Your installation date will be confirmed well in advance, with any necessary details ironed out before our arrival.

Attend industry shows around the country, follow trends in the industry, listen carefully to our clients, and stay on top news in the Chicagoland commercial property world.
